Yellow Line

Officially opened in March 2018 the George Johnson Education Centre provides a creative, worthwhile, nurturing education and wellbeing provision supporting young people with social, emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties in Lincolnshire and surrounding areas.

We strongly believe that every child deserves an education and we provide a more inclusive, accessible learning environment to accommodate and support each young person’s individual needs.

George Johnson Education Centrre

Our Centre was opened by, and named after Squadron Leader George Leonard "Johnny" Johnson, MBE, DFM. Johnny Johnson, who was born in Lincolnshire, was one of the original Dam Busters in WW2 and following his time in the RAF he taught people with learning difficulties and later developed pioneering programmes in mental health rehabilitation at Rampton and Balderton hospitals.

At the official opening of the George Johnson Education Centre, Johnny Johnson said: "Young people with emotional or behavioural problems often get overlooked so this is a wonderful opportunity for students to get the education and support they need to help them reach their full potential."
